Say No to Surrogate Advertising

After successfully achieving the Smoke-Free City status for Chandigarh, it is time to regulate the surrogate advertising. In a panel discussion at the Press Club today, the social activist Hemant Goswami of Burning Brain Society, Pallav Mukherjee, Municipal Councillor, Man Mohan Singh Kohli of Hotel Aroma & President, Tourism Promotion Society of Chandigarh, Capt Balwant Gurunay, a management trainer, and Renuka Salwan, Deputy Director BIS and chairperson of PRSI Chandigarh Chapter, decided to send a memorandum to the key people in the Ministry of I&B, to deglamorise the consumption of liquor and tobacco, by regulating the blatant use of surrogate advertising.
