Unfortunately, the cremation grounds in and around Chandigarh had been in utter neglect, as reported in Hindustan Times in the last two months. These 'Departure Lounges' definitely require refurbishing and attention.
Rotary Club of Chandigarh in 2005-06 had taken up the project for beautification of the cremation ground in sector 25, Chandigarh, and for two years the Rotarians even took care of the gardeners and sweepers' salaries to maintain it.
The Municipal Corporation had been cooperative and took immediate action on whatever suggestions were made.
Now, with the current issues coming to the fore as reported in the media, all the Rotary Clubs in Chandigarh would be working together with the MC to make an assessment of work required to be undertaken, supervision and management of the implementation of suggestions, to make our "Departure Lounges" a pious, peaceful, and embalming experience for the families.

International Dolls Museum
The International Dolls Museum in Sector 23, Chandigarh was established in 1985 by Rotary Club of Chandigarh. It has been refurbished and is ready to receive young visitors once again after a massive face lift.
The people who travel out of Chandigarh are requested to bring in a small doll from the country they visit, especially having cultural/historical significance to that country, along with the details of the costume and other historical information which can be displayed.
